Rick Wakeman - Art In Music Trilogy (3CD) - £10.00

"The second trilogy prepared for the German company that went to the wall. Both trilogies are very analogue in their sound which does stand them apart from all the other new age relaxation music that is floating about today." ..

Rick Wakeman - Almost Live in Europe (1CD) - £5.00

"This was recorded in Italy with a very strange line up of the English Rock Ensemble with no guitar player. The tour was a disaster and badly organised and I had the crew from hell out with me as well which just about took the biscuit!!! When I finally got to hear the tapes they were really not acceptable so I dragged some of the guys back in and we re-did quite a lot and added guitar as well, hence the title, Almost Live in Europe." ..

Rick Wakeman - White Rock II (1CD) - £7.00

"When asked to write new scores for all the early Winter Olympic sports films I pieced together the best of all the music and made this album, which I personally think is a nice and genuine follow up to the original. One day I would like to enhance the original and put these two out together but the current owners of White Rock are uncommunicative and so it has about as much chance as happening as I have of ever getting married again!" ..

Rick Wakeman - Can You Hear Me? (1CD) - £5.00

"A remix and in some cases rerecording of the original songs from Prayers. Much better all round but again the choir is not what it should be and so one day when I'm rich I'll re-record them again!!! Some great vocal work from Chrissie Hammond as always." ..

Rick Wakeman - 1984 (1CD) - £12.00

"The wrong album at the wrong time, with all the wrong people around at the time. To do an orchestral rock concept album at a musical time when I probably couldn't even have got a job as a piano tuner was nigh on suicidal. I formed the wrong band, (the worst I have ever had), the deal for the stage show fell through and all in all I listen back to the music with my head in my hands. True there are some good moments, but my personal life was such a mess at the time that I should have run away rather than run into the studio!" ..

Rick Wakeman - Aspirant Sunshadows (1CD) - £8.00

"The third of the Aspirant Trilogy that was a genuine study of music and the effects it has on the human body and mind. Recorded after long discussions with the Manchester based professor of this subject, Cary Cooper, I made many experiments with sounds, tempos and musical design and tested the demos on all types of people from hyperactive children to elderly insomniacs and even with people who were terminally ill. The results were astonishing as the results all led back to a distinctive formula and that was what I then used for the trilogy of Aspirant Sunrise, Aspirant Sunset and Aspirant Sunshadows." ..

Banda Sinfonica:Rick Wakeman - The Myths and Legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table (1CD) - £7.00

"This is in many ways a musical autobiography. Much was written in my head whilst lying in Wexham Park Hospital after my first minor heart attack. The Last Battle I wrote after being advised by the specialist, in front of my management, that he recommended I stopped playing and retired in order to give myself a chance of a reasonable recovery. I was 25. Thankfully I ignored the advice, wrote The Last Battle that night, and carried on. Heart surgery has come a long way since the mid seventies as well thankfully!" ..

Rick Wakeman And His Band - Cirque Surreal (1CD) - £12.00

"Difficult one this for me as some of the music is excellent. Rick Wakeman - Cost Of Living (1CD) - £12.00

"Another nearly album. It has too much variation within the music for me to be really happy about it and again I ended up in a studio that I really didn't like that was picked by the record company at the time and so I couldn't change. There's a mixture of great playing and some very poor playing as well. Most disappointing is the piano sound as the piano in the studio was cheap and nasty. There are a couple of classic tracks on the album though such as Happening Man which I would love to re-record one day." ..

Rick Wakeman - Live At The Empire Pool - King Arthur On Ice (CD/DVD) - £9.99

"Rick writes: There were just three performances of King Arthur on Ice and it was “crucified” by most of the media before it had even had its opening night! Amazingly though, the demand from the press and media for tickets was unprecedented and which was met with a total refusal to all who had “pre-reviewed” the event It was undoubtedly for me, a high point of my musical career. I was pleased with the music and to this day feel that the main theme is probably the best I have written and will be hard to surpass. The shows were just great fun and were put on with virtually no outside assistance as very few people believed in it and indeed wanted it to happen. Numerous people, who will remain nameless, tried in vain to get me to do a basic show at the Royal Albert Hall and to “forget all this nonsense about an ice show”!   Ice skating was not popular back in 1975 and so I enlisted the help of some of the world’s greatest skaters from all over the world To the best of my knowledge it was also the first time a PA of that size had been “hung” in a venue the size of Wembley Arena. I shipped in a Clair Brothers system from America as there was nothing in the UK that could handle the task. Thanks to people like Tony Burdfield at A&M Records, my band, the conductor David Measham and the English Chamber Choir, and the foresight of Alan Yentob, who filmed much of the show for the BBC, the memory still lives on. …And my thoughts now? I’d just love to do it one more time!!!" ..

Rick Wakeman - 1984 - Live at the Hammersmith Odeon 1981 (CD/DVD) - £9.99

"Wakeman teamed up with Tim Rice to write the 1984 album, a musical adaptation of George Orwell's book of the same name. The project was a flop for a couple of reasons; critics panned it because Rice's lyrics tried to give the adaptation an upbeat ending, something the book did not have. Secondly, when Wakeman wanted to tour the production in the U.S. Orwell's estate would not give clearance. The show was performed in the U.K. though and this concert features the opening overture and scattered later in the program, "Julia" and "The Proles." The show overall is a mish-mash featuring "Sea Horses" from the Rhapsodies album and then proven crowd pleasers from King Arthur, Henry VIII and Journey. In the liner notes Wakeman says that he was at a low point in his career when this show was taped; his father had just died, he was going through a divorce and he was not happy with the line-up of his band. He doesn't single anyone out but the female vocalist here doesn't live up to the work done on the record by Chaka Khan. Still the show has its redeeming values; the arrangements are changed on the familiar stuff from the three main albums and the band tackles the difficult "Catherine of Aragon" and "Anne of Cleaves" for the first time ever live. Wakeman introduces every song, joking that then the audience will have advance notice as to when to go to the bathroom." ..

Michael Livesley and Brainwashing House feat Rick Wakeman, Neil Innes and Susie Honeyman - Vivian Stanshall's Sir Henry at Rawlinson End (1CD) - £9.99

"Vivian Stanshall, widely acknowledged as one of the most influential recording artists of the 20th Century may sadly no longer be with us but the incredible words he created live on via the celebrated rave-reviewed recreation of his meisterwerk ‘Sir Henry at Rawlinson End’ by actor, singer and comedian Michael Livesley accompanied by his trusted Brainwashing House band. Originally created for John Peel’s Radio 1 show in the 1970s, ‘Sir Henry at Rawlinson End’ – the meandering gin-soaked saga of a crumbling English stately home and the grotesques who inhabit it headed by the heroically drunk Sir Henry - perfectly distilled and encapsulated Viv's absurdly hilarious wordplay and songwriting which first hit the public consciousness during the 1960s via his work helming the cult Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band. The show, now in its 6th year and with the full blessing of the Stanshall family, has earned the praise of Viv’s fans, friends and celebrity fans alike including keyboard wizard Rick Wakeman who, due to his admiration for this unique piece, has joined the show on piano as a guest many times. This has led to RRAW Records, the exciting new label from Rick and music industry veteran Robin Ayling, proudly presenting this brand new original cast recording of this critically acclaimed stage show as their debut release. The recording features Rick guesting on piano, and also Viv’s Bonzo bandmate and sometime Rutle and Monty Python member Neil Innes plus Viv’s favourite violinist Susie Honeyman of The Mekons. For more information please visit www.sirhenrylives.com  ‘Michael Livesley embodies to perfection the spirit and brilliance of Vivian Stanshall and adds his own measure of outrageous talent too’ – Stephen Fry ‘A tour-de-force and a work of Art’ Neil Innes  ‘Sir Henry’s bluster and his epic lack of drawing room manners are still winning fun. All very odd, all very Stanshall!’ Clive Davis, The Times ‘A work of lyrical genius and poetry, on a different plane to the rest of the world’ Rick Wakeman ‘Mike is absolutely remarkable. I’m thankful that Mike keeps the memory of Viv well and truly alive for all of us’ Danny Thompson ‘What a night, an ensemble of madmen at their best, smashing!’ Rupert Stanshall, Vivian’s son ‘Brilliant! Berserk! Simply wonderful!’ Suzanne Moore, The Guardian ‘Rare facility and nimble erudition, as powerful an experience as one could wish for outside Hallucinogens!’ Danny Baker ‘Livesley's performance gives weight and truth to that old theatrical cliché  -  a comic tour-de-force’ Andrew Male, MOJO ‘A distorted-mirror celebration of English eccentricity rooted in a riot of linguistic lasciviousness’ Andy Gill, The Independent" ..

Norman Wisdom Featuring Rick Wakeman - A World of Wisdom (1CD) - £9.99

"One of the nice things about showbusiness was that there was a little fellow around called Norman Wisdom. With an ear-to-ear grin, a loveable personality, and talent by the ton packed into his sixty-five inch frame.  He played all over the world, and starred on Broadway in musical shows such as Walking Happy, for which he won two awards, Not Now Darling, [one award] and Androcles and The Lion, etc.  He was voted “Comedian of the Year” on 5 occasions. At home, he won a British Film Academy Award for his first film Trouble In Store, which broke box office records, and starred in a further 15 highly successful comedy films.  Norman Wisdom has been a household name for over fifty years and the sheer magnetism of his name was guaranteed to fill theatres wherever he appeared.  The diminutive Londoner joined the army at the age of fourteen as a bandsboy with the 10th Royal Hussars.  When Norman left the army in 1946 he set about entertaining professionally. He was later approached by the Rank Organisation and signed a film contract.  His first Royal Variety Performance was in 1952.  Since then he was chosen for eight Royal Variety Shows and a private Christmas Concert for the entire Royal Family at Windsor Castle. Norman sadly passed away in October 2010 at the grand age of 95.  Relive some of his songs and comedy here played by Rick Wakeman." ..

Jeff Wayne/Rick Wakeman/Kevin Peek - Beyond The Planets (CD) - £9.99

"Have you even wondered what would happen if the king of progressive rock keyboards teamed up with the bloke who wrote The War Of The Worlds rock opera and the guitarist with the late lamented Classical Rock group Sky? Well, you need wonder no longer!   A reviewer on the Prog Archives writes:   "Beyond the planets" is essentially the performance of Holst's "The planets" in a rock context. Wayne's contribution is limited to the composition of an Overture for the album. As this ends, some brief narration by Patrick Allen is heard. Allen does a great impression of Richard Burton, which when combined with Wayne's distinctive sound, immediately creates echoes of "War of the worlds". Allen returns a couple of times during the album to link tracks together with further brief narration. The familiar introduction to "Mars" (as used by Rainbow on "Eyes of the world" among many others) then takes over, and we launch into a full rendition of "The Planets suite". The music is performed dramatically and faithfully throughout, with Peek using various guitar sounds according to the mood of the piece" ..

Rick Wakeman - Black Knights at the Court of Ferdinand 4th (1CD) - £9.99

"On this extraordinary album, legendary keyboard player teams up with an Italian singer named Mario Fasciano. Stavros Moschopoulos  writes: “Recorded on the Isle of Man, the CD contains 8 new Neapolitan songs and it is the result of a prodigious concurrence of a number of talented artists that have somehow reached a propitious zenith of creativity here, in this album. Exotic, Mediterranean, evocative, timeless, classic and classical, and wonderful are a few of the adjectives I use to describe this exciting CD”. Rick's signature piano playing and Mario's warm Jon Anderson' like voice weave a web of medieval fantasy which won round up on Wakeman records on the internet described as being: "musically somewhere between prog and new age, with Italian vocals.". This is an unjustly overlooked record which fans of Rick Wakeman are certainly sure to enjoy." ..

Rick Wakeman - Gastank (3CD) - £17.99

"Gastank was an English television show that aired between 1982–1983 on Channel 4. Hosted by Rick Wakeman and Tony Ashton the show featured a mix of interviews with 1970s musicians and impromptu performances where the guest artist would join Rick and Tony with their house band in playing re-arranged versions of their classic songs, or entirely new pieces created for the show. The format was very informal with the setting likened to a bar where Wakeman would interview the guest over a drink or two followed by their performance in front of a small studio audience sitting in groups at tables. Wakeman would frequently cite the show as an opportunity for musicians from different bands to get the opportunity to work together. During its run, the show featured guests as diverse as Ian Paice, Rick Parfitt, Steve Hackett, Andy Fairweather Low, John Entwistle, Godley and Creme, Eric Burdon, Suzy Quatro, Eric Burdon and Phil Lynott. Now for the first time on DVD all the episodes of Gastank along with a CD of these now seminal music performances of Rick and his guests. This standard edition contains 3CDs.   " ..

Emmie Beckitt & Rick Wakeman - Morning Has Broken (CD) - £3.99

"Morning Has Broken is the new single from rising talent Emmie Beckitt and Rick Wakeman. This is a newly recorded version of this classic song which was made famous by Cat Stevens in 1971, arranged and accompanied by Rick Wakeman. This new version of Morning Has Broken was recorded by Emmie with the English Chamber Choir, the Orion Orchestra, and features Rick Wakeman on keyboards.  Rick first met Emmie, who has been singing classical repertoire since the age of ten, at a fundraiser for Kids ‘n’ Cancer and was so impressed by her crystal clear voice and effortless range that he decided to record a song from his oratorio The New Gospels with her.  Emmie is currently studying for her for A Levels, she also takes part in the Senior School Chamber Choir at St Augustines, Scarborough, North Yorkshire. She is also a member of her school orchestra and jazz band, as she plays tenor saxophone, violin and piano. When aged only 13, she supported Katherine Jenkins in concert and a year later, appeared at Roy Wood s sell-out show at the Birmingham Symphony Hall, where she received a standing ovation. She recently sang The Hymn, composed by Sir Tim Rice and Rick Wakeman, with an orchestra and choir, at The Sage Gateshead, as part of the Tim Rice Concert Series. Rick is a Fellow of the Royal College of Music, Professor of the London College of Music, former YES keyboard player, Watchdog presenter and renowned Grumpy Old Man. Classically trained pianist Rick began his career as a much-sought-after session musician in the late Sixties, playing on more than 2,000 records by a wide variety of artists, including Cat Stevens, David Bowie, Marc Bolan and Black Sabbath. In the early Seventies, he found fame in his own right as a member of first Strawbs and then YES. As a solo artist and with YES, he has sold more than 50,000,000 albums. He has written a number of film scores and has become a TV regular, appearing on shows like Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Countdown. This new version of Morning Has Broken, is a both beautifully and melodic. It is released by Hope Records via Nova Distribution, on 7th April 2017.  " ..

A must have album for true Wakeman collectors". And Peter Zajax wrote: "What more can one say about Rick Wakeman, musical works. If you like Wakeman you will like this. Apart from the excellent playing, I am always amazed by the quality of the recordings on Wakeman CD's as they seem to have a clean crisp sound."" ..

Rick Wakeman - Gastank (3CD) - £37.95

This SIGNED edition contains 3CDs." ..

Rick Wakeman - Simply Acoustic (1CD 1DVD) - £9.99

"Richard Christopher "Rick" Wakeman (born 18 May 1949) is an English keyboardist, songwriter, television and radio presenter, author, and actor. He is best known for being in the progressive rock band Yes across five tenures between 1971 and 2004 and for his solo albums released since the 1970s. Here with just a grand piano, Wakeman manages to roll thirty-plus years of music into an entertaining and quite rewarding trip down memory lane in front of a live audience. He gives forth with arrangements of his work from every point in his career, from his time with the Strawbs ("A Glimpse Of Heaven"), his days as a marathon session musician (David Bowie's "Space Oddity," Cat Stevens' "Morning Has Broken"), his various stints with Yes and ABWH (a lovely version of "Wonderous Stories" and a medley of "The Meeting" and "And You And I") and high points from his solo career in the bargain. Wakeman intersperses these performances with stories of how the songs and pieces were written, and he is a natural racounter and howlingly funny at times. If the music thing doesn't work out, he'd make a killing doing stand-up comedy in the Catskills! All told, SIMPLY ACOUSTIC is a concert recording that makes you wish you'd actually been there--what better praise is there?" ..
